Our Story

A note from the owners:

My husband and I fell in love with the Gers region of France many years ago. Our frequent trips to the area provided the perfect antidote to the fast-paced life that we had in the Middle East, where we both had busy careers that involved a lot of travel. We felt so connected to the region that in 2012 we decided to get married here, at another beautiful chateau. After our wedding, we felt called to start searching for our own home to balance the bustle of the Middle East.

As soon as we came to visit Chateau Labarthe, we fell in love. The stunning 17th century features, 5 acres of grounds and boundless views of the Pyrenees were breathtaking. We stopped the search and after a long and arduous buying process, the chateau was finally ours at the end of 2018. The main chateau and surrounding buildings needed a lot of love poured into them and we started the renovation process just as the pandemic hit which was challenging, but worth it. We’re so in love with this incredible sanctuary that we’re lucky enough to call home that we want to share it with others as the perfect destination to adventure, escape and unwind. Having Chateau Labarthe in our lives has been a dream come true and we can’t wait to share its magic with you.
